8 Important Habits You Need

Hey there! I hope all of you are well. Today we are going to be talking about Important Habits you need. So without further ado let us get right into it. Basically in life, we all tend to do things on a daily basis, sometimes consciously or subconsciously. But what if we made an attempt to only adopt good habits? Wouldn't be so much better at life?

What is a Habit?

From my understanding, a habit is simply just an activity we tend to do without much thought. That is it in a nutshell. I have a habit of always filling my water bottle whenever it is empty, sometimes I do not think, it just happens. I have another habit of posting on Legendary Gentleman's socials daily. I make one post on Canva, then I download the quote I have made and post it on Instagram, then YouTube and lastly TikTok. I do not get much views or anything like that nor am I super famous - I mean lets be real, it's only quotes but you'd be surprised how a single quote can change someone in an instant and inspire them. That's why I do it cause even if it is just one person - at least I made a difference.

But I am going off topic now. Let us dive deep into important Habits you need!

Important Habits You Need

Reading Daily

Yes! You need to read. No, I do not just mean this post. You need to get an actual book and read it. It can be anything. What I mean by getting an actual book is buying an e-book that has been published by a reputable publisher or by buying a hard copy of a book or actually going to a library and borrowing a book or two for you to read.

It does not matter what exactly it is that you read about, choose whatever it is that you are interested in. 
The important thing is to simply read, but why? Well because it is extremely beneficial. When you begin to read long-term what will start to happen is that you can process words much faster and you will begin to develop your visualization skills. Another big benefit is that you will expand your vocabulary and you will naturally be able to understand more word complex words used in many different contexts. 

All the big CEO's in the world read. They tend to read material that leans toward business though but do not let that limit what you want to read about. Go wild with it - who knows you may even learn something new, something you never knew existed. 

Exercise

No! It is not a waste of time, don't you dare think that. Exercise is extremely important because it helps your blood circulate and ensures that the body is fit. It is in your best interest to train your body so that you do not develop any health conditions and so that you have a longer life. 

Exercising regularly helps you lose weight too, and when some people lose weight this leads to them developing confidence and having a better self-image which is an extremely good thing. Exercise daily even if it is something small because even the smallest attempts can have the biggest impact on your life. You do not even have to do anything crazy, a brisk walk in the afternoon when you are done with work can count as exercise. Invest time in it and you will see the fruits of your labor in the long run.

Be cognizant of what you eat

The reason why you should be cognizant of what it is that you consume is extremely important. Sometimes we eat things without much thought, sometimes we do not eat on time or enough. It is important to become aware of what it is that you actually consume even if it is not by choice, it is important to take not of what exactly it is that you are eating. As you become more aware of what it is that you are consuming you will be able to control how much you eat and more importantly what exactly it is that you eat.

I do not recommend that you eat highly complex foods as this is not good for the human digestive system. It is best to eat simple foods like fruit, vegetables and non-processed meat. Eating these more often than chips and chocolates will work in your favor in the long run as it will reduce the risk of developing any health conditions down the line and ensure that you have a longer life. Not only this but what you eat can also impact your mood and the way you feel. By eating simpler foods you this can impact your overall mood in a positive way.

Start Journaling

There are many reasons as to why you should start journaling. Personally I have found that journaling about my life and things that are occurring around me gives me better mental clarity. A good way to think of this is that your mind processes things but it is not particularly good at storing every single detail of something. This is why journaling is so powerful because it allows you to make your thoughts tangible so that you can see what it is exactly, that you are thinking. 

Personally, I desperately wanted to kickstart Legendary Gentleman really badly but I had no plan of action. I was very sickly and my body was aching from a fight that I had been in, my knuckles hurt so much. I didn't let that stop me. I grabbed an empty notebook and a pen. I started writing about everything going on in my life. The good and the bad, everything that came to mind and exactly how I felt. I eventually got to the point where I knew I wanted to create a brand that influences the world and that is when I came up with Legendary Gentleman. 

I made notes about the different social media I was going to post on, in the form of a spider diagram. I wrote down how much I would post and even wrote something motivational for myself to read whenever things get difficult with this brand. Writing everything down gave such a clear picture of how I was going to make this brand a success.

The moral of the story here is to journal and get some mental clarity because it will clear up that brain fog in your head and allow you to spend crucial mental energy on the ideas that really matter.

Meditate

There are so many reasons why you should meditate and by doing a quick Google search tons of benefits will come up. I'll mention just a few of them though for your benefit.

It helps you gain a new perspective in stressful situations. Increases your self-awareness. Increases your creativity, visualisation, patience and ability to focus on the present. 

With the benefits out of the way, let us talk about how to meditate. You will need to find a quiet room where you can sit down and close your eyes without interruption. Sit down, and close your eyes. Do this for 10 minutes. While sitting and closing your eyes, do not fall asleep. Focus on your breathing, if thoughts come in that distract you and cause a chain reaction that brings up past events and other unwanted memories, you need to step in and control your mind and force yourself to focus on nothing but your breath. It can also help you be cognizant of your body. Are you sitting? How does it feel to sit? Do you feel cold or warm? How is your posture? If you focus on these things, this will automatically force your mind to focus on the present and not get lost in thought.
